Our Town Hall, rebuilt in the early part of the last Century, has had a number of uses including an Ambulance Station during WW2 and most recently Council rooms. It was, at one time, the only indoor public gathering space for the town other than licensed premises.
The building is now showing its age and is beyond the scope of Council budgets to return it to its former glory.
Could you help to restore and maintain the Town Hall to enable the people of Cullompton to continue to benefit from its presence and use?
There is a view that the Town Hall should remain in community ownership and the Council is prepared to gift it to a charitable or non-profit organisation to own, manage and maintain. The first step in this process is to establish if the community wish for this asset to remain as a community space.
Do you have ideas about how the Town Hall could be used today, tomorrow and into the future?
Our Town Hall needs help and assistance to bring it up to today’s standards and to a usable condition, creating a sustainable, environmentally friendly, safe and comfortable space. This will require considerable investment.
