At Cullompton Town Council’s annual full council meeting last night, elections were held for the positions of Mayor and Deputy Mayor for the 2024-2025 municipal year.
Cllr Tony Spring was elected as the new Town Mayor and Chair of Cullompton Town Council. Upon his election, Cllr Spring stated “I believe it’s a real honour to be selected to the role of Mayor. I’m already extremely proud of our town but know there is more we can do. I hope over the course of my tenure that we are able to move forward with a range of improvement to make the town a better place for all who live here and come to visit. We have an exciting year of projects planned and I’ll share periodic updates of these as they progress.”
Also elected was Cllr Emma Buczkowski who now holds the office of Deputy Mayor and Vice-Chair of the Town Council. Cllr Buczkowski said “I am grateful to my fellow councillors for putting their trust in me and electing me as Deputy Mayor. I’m really looking forward to working with the Mayor for the Town and most importantly our residents. With all the great plans we have for this year, including the renewal of St. Andrews Play Park which is project I am extremely passionate about, I can’t wait to get started.”
